It happens every year😕
I create my plans for the upcoming week, send them to admin., get my copies printed, and schedule my digital assignments. I have every subject well planned and activities all printed and prepared. All is well until Friday morning. I begin to give my weekly spelling test and realize that I’ve forgotten, AGAIN, to create a modified spelling test for my students whose individualized plans call for fewer words, multiple choice spelling quizzes, or fewer answer choices.
Forgetting once or twice, no big deal, right? But how do I manage to forget this one requirement every week?
Last year, I created my modified spelling test every week as a set of Boom cards.
Well, this year is going to be different! I wrote a sentence for students to complete by choosing the correctly spelled word from three choices. They’re all digitally saved and ready to go! My Friday mornings will now be a lot less hectic!
The words come from HMH Reading program, but each quiz is listed by the spelling rule covered. For instance: “Silent ‘e’” or “Stable Words.” Therefore the quizzes can be used with any reading/writing program. They are also in Boom Card format, so they’re simple to assign and graded for you automatically – SCORE!
